For reasons unknown, a massive pang of homesickness washed over me as soon as I woke up this morning. It might be because I miss my friends and family, or that I miss the changing of the seasons. I love Fall and there is no Fall here in sunny southern California, so that might be it. Maybe it's the old Victorian architecture that I miss. Everything built here involves stucco and Spanish tile, and that gets a little monotonous. I miss thunderstorms, and I miss being able to walk into my favorite pub on any given night without making calling anybody and knowing that I will see people I know and that I'm going to have a great time. I also miss not having an impending sense of doom trapped in my chest when I'm on the freeway. Whatever, I'm going to buy a bottle of whiskey at Von's and stare at the winter jackets hanging up in my closet. Here's some Portishead.
